A Harrison County elementary school has received a donation towards student lunch debt.
An anonymous donor, who has donated supplies to Harrison Central Elementary School in the past, inquired with the school about how much money was owed for student lunches.
The donor then brought a check to the school for just over $200, paying off most of the school’s lunch debt. This donation comes just days after an anonymous business owner donated $500 to Lizana Elementary, paying off almost all their student lunch debt.
Cafeteria Supervisor Latisha Crawford tells News 25 it warms her heart that someone could be so generous to their school. “I greatly appreciate it. I love my kids, I love my job, I love what I do, I get up every morning to come see smiling faces.”
If your household changes in any way, you can apply for free or reduced school lunches through the Harrison County School District’s website.
