Biloxi firemen spent the morning cooking up a delicious meal.
They smoked multiple pounds of pork butt and fried hundreds of fish all to remember one of their fallen firefighters.
Darren Endris, a 25 year veteran of the department, recently lost his battle with cancer and the firemen decided to host the fish fry to honor him.
All the proceeds raised from the benefit will go to the Endris family to help them cover funeral costs. Jason Gable with Biloxi Fire Department said, “It’s a brotherhood here. We try and take care of each other and he fought real hard and he had strong faith and I feel like we can come together and help him out. It’s what we need to do.”
Before the benefit started, the department had over 200 plates to deliver for pre-order.
