Last year, Southern Miss Quarterback Jack Abraham led the entire nation in completion percentage, thanks in large part to his favorite target Quez Watkins.
But, now there’s a chance that Abraham is going to have to find a new favorite target.
First reported by News 25 per a source, Watkins has officially withdrawn from USM and is no longer enrolled in classes. His plan is to go the junior college route during the spring semester to try to get his grades up and would then return to the team in the fall if he qualifies academically.
If he doesn’t come back, that’s a huge blow for the Golden Eagles with Watkins on the receiving end of nine of USM’s 19 passing touchdowns in 2018. No one else had more than three.
