2018 Pascagoula State of the City address
Pascagoula Mayor Dane Maxwell presented the 2018 State of the City address to the public tonight of the city’s projects and finances.
Mayor Maxwell says there are a lot of expenditures from damages with Hurricane Nate and the infrastructure desperately needs help. That will be the main topic of discussion that Maxwell plans to have tomorrow with President Donald Trump at the White House.
Maxwell tells News 25 the city has asked for a significant amount of money to help repair pipes from Hurricane Nate. “I think you have about 1.5 billion in infrastructure repairs to do, but I don’t think we’ll get 1.5 billion this first time. I think we’ll get a little less than that, but we’re going to get a significant amount of money and I believe that there will be one, two, three more supplements that we can go back and ask for, for this damage was caused and we’re going to continue to ask and we’re going to continue to advocate.”
Mayor Maxwell flies to Washington, D.C. tomorrow morning and plans to meet up with Senator Thad Cochran, Senator Roger Wicker and plans to stay there until Thursday.
