2018 ‘MOPS’ Shoe Drive

You can make a difference in the lives of others and all it will cost you is an old pair of shoes.
The Ocean Springs chapter of Mothers of Pre-Schoolers is asking you to clean out your closet for their 2018 shoe drive.
MOPS has partnered with St. Paul United Methodist Church, Blossman YMCA, and several other groups to gather shoes that will be cleaned, repaired, and recycled.
Only complete pairs will be accepted, but MOPS is asking for shoes of every type regardless of condition. The shoes collected will go towards improving the quality of life for people in several developing nations. MOPS Service Coordinator Abby Lisenbee said, “It’s kind of eye opening to see how many shoes you aren’t using when you go through your closet and see that. I’ve got at least ten pairs of shoes I can get rid of, if not twenty. When you’re really thinking that this can be the one pair of shoes that a child might have, yeah, you can definitely give those away or that I can support somebody in need, I can get rid of these shoes, I don’t need them anymore.”
