2016 Carl Legett Tourney Wrapped Up
The 22nd annual Memorial Carl Legett Fishing Tournament is all wrapped up after a weekend of good fishing and good fun. The tournament was held at point cadet marina in Biloxi. This year, yellowfin tuna was a brand new category for the fishing contest, with a big 91 pounder making it to the scales earlier this- weekend. Scales closed at five yesterday afternoon but there was still plenty of fun to be had after the awards ceremony was held as live music and vendors filled the marina throughout the weekend.
Shelby Braun tells News 25, “This year has actually been a really good turnout for us, we’ve seen a lot more black drum that normal, we saw lot of redfish, we have yellow fin tuna as a new category so we’re hoping to see some more of them today, we have between 3 to 4 hundred fishermen that have entered.”
This year’s tournament was presented by the home builders association of the Mississippi Coast.
