2/14 – Rob Knight’s “Cold and Dry” Valentine’s Day Morning Forecast
Today through Wednesday night…DRY…is what comes to mind. Temperatures will continue to warm through mid-week. A severe thunderstorm threat continues to exist over the area on Thursday. The highest probabilities for severe thunderstorm activity will generally be north of the I-10 corridor in Southwest and South-Central Mississippi and the adjacent Louisiana Parishes north of Baton Rouge and New Orleans. There will be a threat of severe thunderstorm activity capable of producing a few tornadoes, damaging wind gusts, and locally heavy rainfall of 1 to 2 inches per hour during the day on Thursday.
A cold front will then sweep through the area in the late evening hours, and colder temperatures will be present through Saturday. By Sunday temperatures will start to warm back to more normal levels with highs in the mid 60s.
