18-wheeler Overturned in Saucier

Traffic was narrowed to one lane for several hours today in Saucier after an 18-wheeler overturned.
It happened just after 9 this morning at the intersection of northbound Highway 67 and Turan Road. The driver says he was turning left onto Hwy 67 when he lost control. The official cause of the accident is still under investigation.
There were no injuries but traffic was tied up because dirt that the truck was carrying spilled onto the road. Corporal Benjamin Siebert with Mississippi Highway Patrol said, “We have the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality for a diesel and hydraulic spill as well as MDOT assisting us in cleaning up the sand that spilled on the roadway. We have our motor carrier units as well as several troopers doing the investigation.”
Both lanes of highway 67 opened back up after noon.
