17th annual Arts Alive! Festival

The 17th annual Arts Alive! Festival took center stage over the weekend in Old Town Bay St. Louis.

The event featured more than 50 area artists and performers from across the area. This marked the first year that the event was two days, adding an extra day due to the rapid growth of last year’s festival.

Arts of Hancock County President Steve Barney tells News 25 that they pride themselves on being interactive, bringing the art to you. “What makes this festival different from some of the other big festivals is our focus on the hands-on activities and the demonstrations. We call this festival Arts Alive because we are bringing the process of making art alive. So, you can get dirty in the pottery wheel like I am, you can try glass blowing, leather works, screen printing. It’s a great way to expose kids to all these things that really they don’t get a chance to do.”
