12/19 Ryan’s “Cold” Monday Night Forecast

The last few weeks have been alternating between bitterly cold and warm and humid, and that won’t change for the week leading up to Christmas. Tonight’s temperatures will be near freezing on the coast, and at or below freezing in the inland areas, but we’ll begin slightly warming over the next few days. Wednesday is the official start of Winter, but it’ll be the warmest day we’ll see until next week. Thursday afternoon will bring a weak cold front through the area, but it’ll have very little moisture to work with so only isolated showers have a small chance of popping up. That front will clear the skies and cool our temperatures a bit, but a new frontal system begins moving in from the West, which will allow for Southerly winds to bring warm/wet air in off the Gulf, meaning we’ll see a very warm and sunny Christmas.
