12/14 – Rob’s “Midday News” Afternoon Forecast

After a warmer start this morning compared to the frigid conditions from yesterday…temps continue to climb into the low/mid 60s…

Temperatures to moderate today through the weekend; I’m expecting to see high temperatures into the mid 60s this afternoon.  A cold front will be moving through the area tonight into Friday morning with just a few showers possible. The sub-tropical jet will be carrying Pacific moisture across Mexico to the northern Gulf coast as this front moves into the Gulf. It appears the timing of this moisture will be such that showers don`t develop along the front until it reaches the coast. So I have kept precip chances south of the southern 6.

Numerous showers and a few thunderstorms are likely to develop as the next cold front moves into the area beginning late Saturday night. The boundary will stall along the northern Gulf Coast which will lead to bouts of rain moving across the area. Storm intensity may increase Monday and Tuesday and the stalled front lifts north and puts the area in the warm sector.)
