1,200 meals delivered to those in need at Ms. Audrey’s annual meal drive-thru

It’s the holiday season and Ms. Audrey’s Southern Kitchen makes sure no one in need goes without a hot Thanksgiving meal. Her annual Thanksgiving dinner meal drive-thru draws another large crowd this evening.

Ms. Audrey’s Southern Kitchen and Catering returns for another year feeding hundreds hot Thanksgiving meals for free.

A line of cars wrapped around Ms. Audrey’s restaurant to get a plate of turkey, green beans, dressing with gravy, a fresh warm dinner roll, and dessert.

More than 1,100 plates went to those looking for a hot thanksgiving plate this holiday season.

From 4 to 6 p.m., a crew of staff and volunteers worked to get fresh food into cars. Mrs. Audrey Duncan said, “I can say, it’s humbling. I tell you I wouldn’t take nothing for being able to do this. This is something that I’ll continue to do as long as I’m able to do it. And whatever it takes to feed these people, we’re gonna feed them. I can go to bed knowing that I made somebody have a nice Thanksgiving meal tonight.”

Ms. Audrey ran out of traditional Thanksgiving food and started serving fried chicken so no one went without a meal.
