12/28 – Jeff Vorick’s “Much Colder End to Week” Thursday Evening Forecast
A cold pattern has arrived for the Mississippi Coast with below-average temperatures in the area for the next few days. Expect temperatures to tumble overnight with winds out of the northwest continuing. A Freeze Warning is in effect for the majority of the area from Midnight until 10 AM Friday. The entire area with the exception of some of you along/south of the interstate will be dealing with freezing temperatures. Remember the 4 P’s including bringing in sensitive pets, providing warm shelter or bringing in animals, checking on neighbors, and protecting outdoor pipes (more so inland).
Friday will feature sunny skies and below-average temperatures with high temperatures struggling to make it into the 50s. Friday night will feature cold temperatures again but likely less in the way of widespread freezing conditions. Saturday is when a modest warm-up begins with afternoon temperatures making it farther into the 50s and Sunday morning bringing an end to freezing cold starts for the area. Sunday brings some cloud cover and temperatures another notch warmer. A quick-moving storm system will bring rain chances on New Year’s Day.
