12/13 – Brittany’s “Wet & Severe Conditions Ahead” Tuesday Evening Forecast

As we gear up to head into our evening hours, we’re going to begin to see activity start ramping up in association with an approaching cold front. Despite the fact that tonight, we’ll be under a SLIGHT threat for severe weather, the brunt of the activity won’t make its way into our area until tomorrow. Tomorrow will hold a 100% chance for scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. We’ll also see that severe potential upgraded to an ENHANCED threat which is a level 3 out of 5 potential threat for severe weather. All forms of severity will be on the table. We could see strong straight line winds, tornadic activity, hail, and heavy rainfall which could lead to flash flooding. The majority of us will pick up about 2-4 inches of accumulation by the time this system fully pushes through our area. The system, since it will be slow moving, will provide for a day long event tomorrow.

Once the front pushes through by early Thursday, we’ll see clearing conditions with cooler temperatures as we’ll see high pressure build in from our northwest.
