12/06 – Brantly’s “Rain Clearing, Cold Air Moving In” Sunday Night Forecast
Conditions will rapidly improve after this batch of rain pushes east of the area late this evening. Expect to see clear skies in place across the area by tomorrow morning. Cooler and drier weather will persist through the middle of the week. With high pressure building into the region, expect light, northwesterly winds to continue through the day on Tuesday before gradually turning westerly as the surface high slides east into the central Gulf. Dry air will remain in place through Wednesday with zero chance for rain.
The coldest night of the week will be Monday night as temperatures plummet into the low 30s inland with mid to low 30s near the coast, generally south of the I-10 corridor. Temperatures will fall below freezing across inland communities in the pre-dawn hours on Tuesday for around 3-4 hours. Temperatures will struggle to even reach 60 on Tuesday. Temperatures on Tuesday night will remain chilly, but should be a few degrees warmer than Monday night. There will be a slight warming trend in the temperatures starting Wednesday through the end of the week. Highs on Wednesday will top out in the mid to low 60s area-wide and lows on Wednesday night will fall into the upper 30s inland with 40s closer to the coast.
The work week ends on a dry note with rain possible again over the weekend. Rain showers will spread into the area from the west on Friday night, but the bulk of the rain looks to slide into the area on Saturday morning and afternoon ahead of a cold front.
Daytime temperatures will be mild through Saturday with highs topping out in the 60s each afternoon for much of the area while locations near the coast may hit the 70 mark. Overnight lows will fall into the 40s inland with 50s along the coast on Thursday night with 50s area-wide by Friday night. Temperatures on Saturday night will be dependent on how quickly the rain exits to the east and how fast the cooler and drier air is ushered into the area in the wake of the front.
