12/01 – Brantly’s “Cold Snap” Sunday Night Forecast

After some showers this morning, it turned out be to a beautiful day to end the holiday weekend here along the Gulf Coast. As skies cleared up, temperatures started to drop after two cold fronts moved through. We got up to the lower 70s early this afternoon but tonight we will dip into the upper 30s along the coast and lower 30s inland. On Monday, we won’t warm up too much. Highs will only top out in the mid 50s under sunny skies.

The coldest night of the week will be Monday night. Temperatures will drop to the lower 30s, just below freezing, along the coast and possibly in the upper 20s for locations away from the water. Right now, we are not anticipating a hard freeze, but temperatures will sit just below freezing for a couple hours. As always when it gets cold, you should check on the elderly, protect your pipes, and make sure pets have a warm place to stay.

We will gradually warm up through the week as clouds start to filter back into the region and moisture slowly returns. However, temperatures will stay slightly below normal for this time of the year.  Our next chance for rain will be on Friday.
