Moss Point’s 115th Anniversary Celebration Kicks Off

The City of Moss Point kicked off a week of celebrating their 115th anniversary by making sure their residents are living a healthy lifestyle.

Residents from across the city headed out to Pelican Landing Center this morning looking for health tips. Dozens of companies, including Singing River Health Systems, Virginia College and the Southern Mississippi Heart Center, were on hand to answer any questions from the community. You could even get your blood pressure taken and receive tips on how to keep it at a healthy level.

All this was in hopes that residents will take what they learned from these vendors and pass it on. Dr. Jonny Truong with the Community Development Advisory Committee said, “Definitely express my gratitude for them coming here today, taking time out of their busy schedule to make it known that these resources are available to the community members. Not just that, I would hope that the participants would bring that back and share it with their family members so that they know that there are these resources available in Moss Point.”

Moss Point also held a fair housing workshop this morning that coincided with the health fair.
