11/06 Ryan’s “Summer-Like” Monday Night Forecast

It’s been a long string of warm & humid, summer-like afternoons, but we’re finally going to be seeing a few changes later this week. While tomorrow’s high will remain in the lower 80s on the waterfront and mid-to-upper 80s inland, a cold front will move into the area Wednesday-Thursday which will bring some slightly cooler and drier air into South MS. This will lower afternoon highs into the lower 70s for a few days this weekend, just in time for Veteran’s Day! Return flow will set up quickly, as another frontal system is poised to move through as early as Sunday-Monday, reinforcing our cooler/drier air. Neither front will have much active weather associated with it, and the highest chance of rain (40%) will occur on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

Tropical depression 19 formed earlier, and has now become Tropical Storm Rina. No South Mississippi impact is expected from this storm, and it should become extra-tropical and be absorbed by a frontal system around Wednesday regardless of continued development.
