11/2 – Jeff Vorick’s “Warm and Sunny” Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

Following the passage of a trough of low pressure overnight, the clouds that were around have cleared the area. Sunny skies will dominate today with light easterly winds shifting to southerly by this afternoon. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s, nearing 80 in some spots. High pressure will be in control of our pattern.

Tonight will be a clear, cool night across South Mississippi. Temperatures will dip into the 50s overnight with a light wind out of the northeast. The pattern will stay the same for the rest of the workweek. Morning lows will slowly moderate to the upper-50s to low-60s across the area as we get closer to the weekend. Low-to-mid-80s are very much in play Thursday and Friday.

Ahead of our next weather-maker, clouds will begin to move in Friday. Any rain chances stay west during the day Friday but the system will get closer. Saturday will be our next appreciable rain chance. A robust setup along with plenty of available moisture will provide for showers and thunderstorms. There is a 60% of showers and thunderstorms for our area Saturday.

There will be a 30% chance of showers with the backside of the system Sunday. Clearing begins Sunday and our pattern will return to the same warmth to start next week.
