11/11 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast

A very chilly weekend will usher in warmer weather and rain for your Monday. Rain will start to increase after midnight and steadily increase into tomorrow. By tomorrow morning a warm front will move into the area and that’s when the chance for one or two severe thunderstorms will increase. The greatest threat is for gusty winds and an isolated tornado, although the chances are fairly low. By Monday night into Tuesday a cold front will move through bringing more showers and much colder air. The temperatures on Tuesday will struggle to get out of the 50s. By Wednesday clouds will stick around and temperatures will be cold in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Things begin to clear out Wednesday night and waking up Thursday morning lows will be in the lower to mid 30s. Plan for a light frost in locations and possibly a light freeze inland up toward Hattiesburg. Expect more sunshine on Thursday with highs in the 50s. Going into Friday and the weekend we continue with the cooler weather with highs in the 60s. Temperatures in the morning will be cold.
