11/11 – Jeff’s “Cold Front Overnight” Friday Afternoon Forecast

The remainder of the Veterans Day holiday will be a lovely one. Temperatures will be near 80 degrees this afternoon under sunny skies. West winds of 8 to 12 MPH will be in place this afternoon. A cold front is approaching the area from the northwest. Cloud coverage increases tonight with a 30% chance of showers tomorrow morning. Any showers will be light and out of the area by noon.

Mostly cloudy skies will dominate the day Saturday with rapid clearing after sunset. Temperatures will plummet below 50 degrees after midnight. South Mississippi will wake up to 30s on Sunday morning. Afternoon high temperatures will struggle to reach 60 degrees.

Monday is a day of transition in the pattern. The next storm system, following this weekend’s, will move from the western Gulf into our area. Monday will have increasing cloud coverage through the second half of the day. There is a 20% chance of showers in the afternoon.

The highest rain chances come overnight Monday into Tuesday. The type of frontal system that will form tends to be a prolific rainmaker for our area. Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecasted to occur with its passage.
