11/08 Ryan’s “Dreary” Friday Morning Forecast
We're off to a dreary start, but won't see as much rain as the last two days.
We’re getting a dreary end to a fairly damp and grey week, though I expect today will end up one of the drier of the week ahead of our next front. I don’t expect we’ll get a true frontal passage until mid-way through next week, but the additional rain and cloud cover building over the weekend will cool things down a little more. We peaked temperature-wise on Wednesday, but have been slowly cooling since then. We’re still far warmer than we should be though! In fact, today’s slightly cooler low of 74 for Gulfport is still 22° warmer than “normal” for this time of year. Today’s slightly “cooler” high of 83 is just over ten degrees warmer though.
Tropics: We still have one area of potential development near the Leeward Islands/Virgin Islands over the next few days, but if it doesn’t get it together soon it will run out of time. Hurricane Rafael restrengthened some, but is expected to drift aimlessly and slowly weaken in the Gulf over the next several days.
