11/08 – Brantly’s “Warmer Than Normal” Sunday Night Forecast

After a warm day, expect temperatures to be mild overnight with lows dropping to the lower 60s inland and mid 60s along the coast. Skies will be partly cloudy.

Clouds will start to clear out early Monday morning. We start off the work week with warm temperatures here across the Gulf Coast. Highs today will be above normal once again, topping out in the lower 80s. Tonight should be rather warm as well with lows only getting down to the upper 60s. Clouds start to build in overnight, leaving us with partly sunny skies by Tuesday morning.

Tropical Storm Eta is expected to move west through the Florida Straits and into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico by Monday and is forecast to strengthen back to hurricane force during that time. Rain will remain out of our local forecast through the next 24 hours, but moisture streaming in from Tropical Storm Eta’s broader circulation and influence will keep humidity elevated and allow pesky cloud cover to linger. Expect the muggy weather and warm temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s to continue Monday.

A cold front, moving slowly eastward, will push into our area on Wednesday. Eta is forecast to have reached hurricane strength by the middle of the week while moving across the southeast Gulf then is expected to weakening to a tropical storm by late Wednesday night.  Deep tropical moisture continues to slowly increase over the area with the slow movement of Eta, and with the frontal boundary slowly approaching and then moving into the area, we will continue to have a slight chance for rain on Tuesday followed by chance to good chance rain for Wednesday. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the lower 80s. Lows Monday night and Tuesday night range from 65-70.
