11/06 – Rob’s “Rain Returning Soon” Wednesday Morning Forecast

Moisture flow off the Gulf will get started once again tonight into Thursday ahead of the next cold front. With the approaching front, precipitation will be split into two areas, one over SW LA and another over Mississippi/Alabama.

The rain that moves into the area should start to dissipate as it moves through, but rain chances will remain high although there will not be heavy rainfall due to an increasingly stable airmass. North winds will start before the air mass change but once these winds increase to around 15 mph or better, the actual cold front will have moved through. This will not be until Thursday evening into Thursday night.

A few areas of spotty rain will continue into Friday morning with cloud coverage into Friday afternoon before clearing. Cold air will move back over the area and stay for several days. Models are indicating another strong surge of cold air moving into the area by the start of the next week.
