10/09 Ryan’s “Post Nate” Monday Night Forecast

Nate moved quickly into the area, then moved out just as quickly, but we’re still seeing a bit of moisture this afternoon causing some showers and t-storms. These showers could linger into tomorrow, but we’ll begin seeing them taper off rather quickly. Afterwards, a cold front begins driving into the area but seems as if it will stall and wash out as it moves through, so the weather will cool and dry a little by mid-week. During this period of time, skies remain sunny and temperatures will linger in the mid to upper 80s, gradually increasing as we head into the next work week. That’s also when we’ll begin seeing the moisture returning.

As far as the tropics go, Nate is no longer a tropical system, but Ophelia became the 15th named storm of the season earlier today. This new storm will have no impact on the South Mississippi area, and should head Eastward into the open Atlantic by the weekend as a low-end hurricane.
