10/07 Ryan’s “Columbus Day Weekend” Friday Forecast
While dangerous weather continues to pound the East Coast; however, locally things could only be better for Columbus Day Weekend if they cooled down a bit…and that’s coming. We’ll see another warm day with lower humidity tomorrow, high near 91, with temps gradually decreasing well into next week. By Wednesday, temperatures will start a slow climb back into the upper 80s by next weekend.
Hurricane Matthew has devastated hundreds of miles of Florida’s Coast, but has yet to make “landfall.” Thankfully, the stronger winds have stayed out over the water, though that may change as the system is expected to head a little further inland as it moves into Georgia and South Carolina over the next 12 hours. After that, rapid weakening is expected as the front that brought us our nice weekend continues to push the storm East, while increasing its shear. Matthew is expected to become a Tropical Storm and eventually a Depression as it turns towards the South and seemingly back for a second shot at Florida. A weak frontal boundary in the area should keep Matthew out of the Gulf, but we’ll have more clarity after the weekend.
