I-10 Wrecks Cause Major Delays
Today’s wet weather didn’t help the Labor Day commute for drivers along I-10.
Multiple accidents caused hours’ worth of delays throughout the afternoon. At least four of the five I-10 accidents occurred in Jackson County.
All wrecks were minor, according to officials. No major injuries were reported.
In addition to today’s accidents, Mississippi Highway Patrol reported 12 cases of DUI’s over the weekend.
Gulfport resident Jessica Labit said, “I waited later on during the day because the weather was pretty bad this afternoon. I avoided most of the traffic and everything. I heard that there was some traffic earlier, but I kind of got away with it.”
With thousands of people on the road tomorrow driving home from their Labor Day destinations, police and highway patrol encourage all drivers to slow down and remain cautious.
