10/24 Jeff’s cold front moving in Monday midday forecast

A humid flow has taken hold on our pattern. Winds out of the southeast are ushering in a warm and humid airmass ahead of a cold front. Temperatures today will reach the low-80s in our area. Winds will be out of the southeast around 10 to 15 MPH with gusts in the 20 MPH range this afternoon.

Tonight will be rather mild with the humid flow ahead of a cold front continuing. Winds will be out of the south at 10 to 15 MPH with temperatures falling into the 70s. There will be a 30% chance of showers in the pre-dawn hours. The cold front moves to its east overnight with tomorrow being the day of the passage.

Through the day tomorrow, there is a Level 2 risk of severe thunderstorms. The highest chance of thunderstorms will be between sunrise and early afternoon. Threats include strong, damaging straight-line winds and a risk of tornadoes. The potential is there for a squall line ahead of the cold front pushing through the area. Have a way to get warnings throughout the day!

Once the cold front sweeps through, there will be a few days of quiet fall weather until the next boundary approaches next weekend. High temperatures will be in the 70s with plentiful sunshine Wednesday and Thursday.
