10/13 – Jeff Vorick’s “Cold Front/Partial Solar Eclipse” Weekend Forecast

Skies will clear out for the first portion of the evening and overnight hours but temperatures will remain mild ahead of a cold front. It will not provide for any rainfall during its passage however clouds will be around at points during the first part of your Saturday.

Expect clearing and winds to pick up out of the northwest tomorrow. It will still be warm for the afternoon thanks to the still-high sun angle. Speaking of the sun, there will be a partial solar eclipse in our area tomorrow, peaking at around 70% of the sun covered by the moon! It will only be visible with proper eclipse glasses, and DO NOT look at the sun with your eyes in the first place. The eclipse will peak at 12:08 PM CDT.

More cloud cover will be around Sunday into Monday prior to a reinforcing shot of cold air at the beginning of next week. Expect breezy conditions Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will be below seasonal norms for much of the first half of next week. The next real sign of rain chances appears during the second half of next week.
