10/08 — Brantly’s “Mild” Wednesday Afternoon Forecast
After a cool start to the day, we will warm up to a high temperature in the upper 80s… maybe even hitting the 90 degree mark for locations away from the coast. Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with a low near 72 degrees.
The cold front that passed through yesterday has become stationary over the northern Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to transition into a warm front and move northward across South Mississippi over the next day or two. On Thursday, we’ll have similar temperatures with highs in the mid to upper 80s, but we will add in a 30 percent chance of rain. Any rain activity will likely be confined to the coastal regions and will be in the form of scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Friday, rain chances increase to around 60 percent as a surge of Gulf moisture makes the atmosphere unstable. Showers and thunderstorms will likely end by the evening and skies will clear out quickly for the weekend.
Mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures are in store for Saturday with highs in the upper 70s.
