1/9 – Jeff’s “Pleasant” Monday Afternoon Forecast
High pressure will be the main influence in our weather for the next couple of days. Expect partly cloudy skies this afternoon along with mild temperatures. With clearing and light winds, temperatures will drop efficiently overnight. It will be chilly with a few clouds tonight.
Tuesday will be the clearest day as high pressure will be at its closest to South Mississippi. Temperatures will warm well into the 60s tomorrow as winds will shift to southerly. Moisture will slowly increase towards the middle of the week. With a warmer and humid airmass along with light southerly flow, sea fog is primed to set up overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
A frontal system will be approaching our area during the middle of this week. We will get into the warm and humid sector of the system during the day Wednesday. There is a 20% chance of a stray shower Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The best moisture won’t be in the area until Thursday. Conditions are looking favorable for a line of thunderstorms to develop with the cold front. The cold front will come through the area during the afternoon hours of Thursday. There will be a noticeable cooldown behind the front.
