09/28 – Brantly’s “Cooler Weather Coming” Monday Morning Forecast

The first big cold front since last spring looks like it will be moving through the area Monday evening into Monday night. Weather models have been fairly consistent with timing of the cold front moving through by early Tuesday morning at the latest. Right now, there appears to be a very small window of opportunity for a few strong storms to develop right along the frontal boundary. However, the overall severe weather potential is pretty low.

After the cold front passes thorough, the northern Gulf Coast area will see beautiful weather with high temperatures in the 70s and low temperatures in the 50s on Tuesday. Expect the cool temperatures to stick around for a few days with gradual warming heading into the coming weekend.

While you’re enjoying that great weather, remember that hurricane season isn’t close to be over and fronts that stall in the Gulf of Mexico sometimes eventually develop into tropical systems. Even though we are in a lull with tropical activity right now, we are also keeping an eye on the western Caribbean for some potential for tropical development in the next 7 to 14 days.
