09/10 Ryan’s “Tropical Update” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast
Here's the latest update on Francine's forecast intensity and track.
The National Hurricane Center did issue a special 1 PM forecast update for Francine, but no with no significant changes. Francine continues to struggle to organize, but is showing some signs of getting it together. Dry air also seems to be limiting its ability to strengthen, as the 10 AM update dropped the peak intensity down from Category 2 status. Today’s mid-morning update also shifted the storm further to the east, but I don’t see a noticeable change with this latest. We’re currently expected tropical storm force conditions with 1-3 feet of storm surge and upwards of 60 mph winds, but the further east it goes the more impact we’ll see.
A lot is going to come together for Francine in the next 24 hours, so be sure to stay up to date with WXXV News 25 as we cover its development and eventual landfall, still currently forecast for the Central Louisiana coastline.
