09/03 Ryan’s “Still Summer” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

It'll still feel like summer today, but another taste of fall is headed our way after a short, wet period.

September is here, but it’s still going to be summer for quite some time in South MS! Today is a good example of that as almost every aspect of today’s weather will be similar to yesterday’s, except I expect a little more cloud cover and a few more showers than we saw yesterday. Even then though, we only saw one or two short-lived showers yesterday, today won’t be a “rainy” day despite the increase. It’s looking like tomorrow will start the “rainy” trend off, but it does look a little drier than it did yesterday…daily chance falling to 50% from 60%.

Thursday and Friday though are still looking quite wet at 80% each. While I don’t expect any “crazy’ weather from a severe weather perspective, a few days with deep moisture like this will likely lead to some short-lived, localized flooding issues. We may see more area-wide issues as well, it just depends on how the rain stacks up for the rest of the week. Stay tuned.
