09/02 Ryan’s “Labor Day” Monday Morning Forecast

Nice weather expected for your Labor Day festivities, but it won't stay dry all week long!

Expect some nice weather for Labor Day today, with sunshine and dry weather expected to start off the week. That’s exactly what we’re seeing now, with nothing but clear, sunny skies as the day begins. That’s all we’ll see for the next few hours as well, with only light cloud cover beginning to develop in the heat of the afternoon. While it initially looked like we’d see some fairly rainy conditions in the afternoon for today, I’m expecting a much less active afternoon now. It’s not impossible that we see a short-lived shower develop this afternoon, but it isn’t likely either. Overall, I ended up giving today a 10% chance for a few hours later today, from around 3-6 pM. If these do form, they’ll be closer to the coast, and not likely to push far inland before breaking down. We’ll see a few more of those tomorrow, up to 20%, but after that the rest of the week is looking quite wet.

A lingering low in the Western Gulf will be creeping our direction in the days ahead, combining with a front to bring us a few days of widespread, heavy rain to deal with ahead of a fall-like cool down for next week!
