08/25 – Brantly’s “Tracking Hurricane Laura” Tuesday Forecast
Gray skies, intermittent rain, and high humidity will be the trend over the next couple of days as tropical moisture continues to flow into the area.
Hurricane Laura is now a Category 1 over the Gulf of Mexico with maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour. The latest track from the National Hurricane Center shows the hurricane making landfall near the Texas/Louisiana state line as a Category 3 with winds of 115 mph and even higher gusts.
In Southwest Louisiana, storm surge of 7 to 13 feet will be possible. In South Mississippi, storm surge of 2 to 4 feet will be possible, mainly for Hancock and Harrison Counties.
