08/11 Ryan’s “Consistently Humid” Wednesday Night Forecast

Less rain, the same amount of humidity, and more triple digit heat indicies.

They say the only sure things in life are death and taxes, but I’d also push for adding our consistently humid summer weather. Once again today the temperature leveled off in the low 90s as the dewpoint remained in the low to mid 70s. This trend continues for the rest of the week and the start of the next with no significant deviations.

That means more days with heat indices in the low 100s, with the only relief coming in the form of our less consistent afternoon shower activity.

Unless Tropical Storm Fred’s projected path changes drastically, I still expect South MS to trend drier than average. We’ll still see our share of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, but now more in the 20% and below chance range than the 30% I consider “average” for this time of year. Please continue to monitor that outdoor activity, and continue to enjoy it as safely as possible.
