07/28 – Brantly’s “Hot and Muggy” Wednesday Evening Forecast
More of the same hot, muggy weather is expected to continue for the next couple of days. Afternoon and early evening showers will be possible tonight and the next few days. These showers will be isolated to scattered, and the main risks will be gusty winds, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall inside thunderstorm development.
Additionally, heat will be a main concern as we move into the next few days. A Heat Advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday for most of the area. Heat index temperatures could reach 105 to 110 degrees. It will be very important for people to stay hydrated while spending time outside over the next few days. In addition, it is also worth noting that these temperatures will be a risk for the vulnerable populations in our area. Afternoon showers could provide some reprieve from the heat, but overall, given the abundant moisture present, it will be hot for most of the area. Stay cool and hydrated over the next few days whenever possible!
Saturday and Sunday, summertime pattern continues over the area. Scattered showers and storms will be possible, mainly during the afternoon hours. These storms will primarily have the threat for gusty winds, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall. Heat will also be a concern as we move into the weekend. Saturday and Sunday heat index temperatures will be very similar to the next few days, likely approaching 105 to 110 degrees.
