07/17 – Brantly’s “Mostly Sunny, Mostly Hot” Friday Forecast
Today through Monday, we should see relatively dry conditions. Unfortunately, less cloud cover means the heat will be back but not as bad as several days ago. Heat index values will be in a 100-105 range. Most showers and thunderstorms will stay west of the Mississippi River today. Saturday should see about the same as today while Sunday should begin a transition back to high rain chances at least over the southern half of the area.
The start of next week will be the next indication of deep moisture moving with the easterly flow into the area once again providing higher than normal numbers of showers and storms. Most of the initial activity looks to be attributable to sea breeze and these could come in by mid to late mornings for several days. The deeper moisture will also be hospitable to waterspouts and with storm motion being along shore to just inland, a few of these could reach the shoreline.
