07/07 Ryan’s “Showers Return” Monday Morning Forecast
The showers return after a drier weekend, but still mostly just in the afternoons.
I’m saying showers “return” later today throughout the forecast, but the truth is they didn’t really leave us in the first place…just thinned noticeably! It barely rained anywhere Thursday or Friday, but there were at least a couple of showers and thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday. Today will end up wetter, but not by much as we’re really just returning to what I would consider an “average” summer day in South Mississippi. That’s around a 30% chance you’ll encounter any afternoon showers and storms, not a guarantee by any means, but at least a little higher than the 10-20% range we saw since the end of last week.
Despite the increase in cloud cover and cooling afternoon showers, temperatures will still climb into the low 90s, and will feel more like low 100s. That’s just under Heat Advisory territory, but not by much, so continue to practice heat safety…especially if you’ll be out in it for a while.
