06/21 Ryan’s “Sweltering Summer Solstice” Friday Forecast

Summer begins today, so expect many more sweltering afternoons even hotter and more humid going forward! It felt appropriately hot for today’s summer solstice, as heat indices again rose into the 100-105 degree range across South MS. Not much changes in the days ahead, and the coolest we’ll get this week will be the upper 80s.

THAT MEANS OUR START TO SUMMER WILL BE LARGELY SUNNY AND BEAUTIFUL, BUT YOU DO NEED TO BE AWARE OF YOUR EXPOSURE TO THE ELEMENTS.

Be sure to always have a source of water nearby, and seek shade and rest if you begin to feel overwhelmed. Seriously, I tried to do some light yard work today and felt completely drained almost instantly. Afternoon showers will come and go for the rest of the week, but significant rain will be few and far between.
