06/12 Ryan’s “Summertime Pattern” Thursday Morning Forecast

We're in for more of this summertime pattern, bringing more afternoon showers later today.

We are firmly entrenched in a summertime pattern, leading once again to cloudy, stormy skies as we head into the afternoon. Today’s activity will trend on the “lighter” side like yesterday, at least compared to the stronger, more widespread storms we saw to start off the week. Severe weather isn’t expected once again, but it also isn’t impossible…particularly as these storms reach the end of their life cycle. At worst I expect gusting winds and frequent lightning, but short-lived heavy showers will likely remain our biggest problem going forward. These quick downpours will lead to quick localized flooding, but we’ll see more and more of it likely as the inches continue to stack up across South MS.
