06/01 Ryan’s “Summer-like” Monday Morning Forecast

We're still weeks away from the official start of summer, but it will be noticeably "summer-like" this afternoon.

It isn’t summer just yet, but expect the next few days to be decidedly “summer-like” thanks to even hotter days and high humidity. We’ll also see another round of “summer-like” showers and thunderstorms, similar to what we saw in the area on Sunday. That means much of the day will be a nice mix of sunshine and clouds, but we’ll see at least a few hours in the middle of the day where isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible though severe weather is not likely. Still, at least everyone has a decent chance at light to moderate showers, with most of the area averaging a tenth to a quarter of an inch with a few locally higher totals wherever the thunderstorms develop. This trend continues into tomorrow, but rain chances fall through the middle of the week.

For today, expect a summer-like afternoon with highs near 90 on the coast, and even warmer inland. With the humidity and light wind factored in, expect heat indices in the neighborhood of 101° through the mid-afternoon.
