04/17 Ryan’s “Bigger Changes” Friday Night Forecast

Only slightly warmer and more humid yesterday, but today’s bigger changes were far more noticeable. The extra warmth and humidity will carry into the night, so expect a low near 69 degrees under cloudy skies. Not expecting many showers until after sunrise, but an isolated sprinkle is possible. Showers become much more likely Saturday as more warm, unstable air moves in, high now back in the low 80s. Isolated showers will also be possible, but the main threat won’t arrive until Sunday afternoon.

THE SEVERE RISK FOR SOUTH MS IS CURRENTLY “ENCHANCED,” LEVEL 3 OF 5. THIS MEANS ALL MODES OF SEVERE WEATHER ARE POSSIBLE: MEDIUM TO LARGE HAIL, TORNADOES, AND DAMAGING WINDS.

This will also be in addition to frequent lightning and heavy rain. Be sure to remain “weather aware” and have several ways to receive alerts as the system moves through. If you don’t already have our “Weather Authority” app, it’s free in your app store and can alert you to changing conditions instantly. The weather for next week is less cloudy, but still warmer and more humid than this week was.
