03/21 Ryan’s “Foggy Again” Tuesday Night Forecast

Expect it to be foggy again tonight with even more coming over the next few evenings since our warm, humid, and generally calm conditions aren’t in a hurry to leave. Last night’s fog was expected to be wide-spread and dense, but winds were about 1-3 knots (less than 5 mph) to strong. Tonight, the winds are expected to be lighter, and in many areas calm, leading to more early morning, locally dense fog. Any fog that develops won’t last too long into the late morning, and will eventually clear for a mostly sunny afternoon with a high near 80. Expect this trend to continue through at least Thursday morning, with the only difference being gradually cooler afternoon highs due to cloud cover, light winds from the North, and impending rain.

The rain won’t begin showing up until late Friday, though I don’t expect too much in South Mississippi until Saturday evening. These storms will be associated with a well defined front, and will likely be on the stronger side as the move through, though recent models have shown some weakening. Regardless, we will continue to monitor this system through the week to assess any severe potential. Otherwise, enjoy what looks like a warm, sunny, and only slightly humid first week of Spring!
