03/25 – Brantly’s “Scattered Afternoon Storms” Thursday Forecast

The threat for widespread flash flooding has come to an end, and thus the flash flood watch has been cancelled early. Isolated heavy rain showers and thunderstorms are still expected Thursday, and could still lead to an isolated threat for flash flooding in any areas that were affected by heavy rainfall the past few days.

The Weather Prediction Center still has a marginal risk for flash flooding over interior southwestern Alabama and interior southeastern Mississippi.

A risk for severe weather is present this afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has an Enhanced Risk…Level 3 out of 5… for severe thunderstorms over interior South Mississippi for areas near Hattiesburg and Laurel.

Meanwhile, here along the Coast, a Slight Risk… Level 2 out of 5…for severe thunderstorms exists for the southernmost six counties of Mississippi and adjacent areas in Southeast Louisiana and South Alabama.
