03/03 – Brantly’s “Storms Wednesday” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

A few showers will be possible Tuesday afternoon as temperatures remain warm, reaching the upper 70s in several locations across South Mississippi. Rain chances are at around 40 to 50 percent.

Rain chances increase overnight to around 60 percent. Overnight lows will be in the lower 60s.

Wednesday, everyone in South Mississippi will likely see showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and an isolated tornado or two. The most likely time of arrival for any strong to severe storms will be in the afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire WXXV viewing area under a “Slight Risk” for severe weather, which is threat level 2 out of 5.

Some rain may linger into Thursday morning before drying out with skies becoming partly cloudy Thursday afternoon. Rain-free conditions are expected to last from late Thursday through the weekend.
