02/17 Ryan’s “Wet” Friday Night Forecast

It’s already pretty wet out there and that’s not going to change over the next several hours. A few showers are moving through South MS right now, but stronger storms are out over the water and could move closer to land. While a stray thunderstorm isn’t out of the question, tonight’s weather is not expected to be severe. A few clouds and a shower may linger into tomorrow morning, but the skies will clear significantly after noon, leading to a clear and cool evening. “Above average” temperatures continue from there, as Sunday’s afternoon high will range from the mid-to-upper 70s (75 on Coast, warmer inland) across the area. A frontal system moving out of Southern California over the weekend will begin pushing into South MS on Monday night, increasing cloud cover. This system is expected to slowly move across the Gulf Coast well into Wednesday, at which point we’ll see more clearing and cooling. Overall it’s going to be a warm and cloudy week.
