02/06 Ryan’s “False Spring” Friday Morning Forecast

After a few weeks of "Arctic" air, a "false spring" has returned to South Mississippi for the next week.

Things have been quite cold over the past few weeks, but over the next we’ll see the return of the “false spring” we enjoyed to end last year and start this one. That means no more highs in the 30s like we saw just a week ago as highs will likely hit 70 in many cities today. I expect Gulfport to top out near 69 degrees, with light westerly winds and sunny skies. Heading into tonight, a front is coming through that’ll have lows above our upper 30s/low 40s normal with an expected low near 43 with clear skies. The front moves through around midnight, and this one isn’t as robust as the last several, so expect at least one frosty morning Saturday ahead of a warm -up. That means more sunny skies and highs in the low-to-mid 60s over the weekend before we hit 70 again next week.
