01/09 Ryan’s “Coldest” Thursday Morning Forecast
We're in for our coldest morning since last winter, falling into the mid 20s in a few South MS cities.
This morning will be the coldest we’ve seen so far this year/season, bringing a freeze warning to the coastal counties, but honestly it’s just a degree or so cooler than yesterday was. A few cities are actually a degree or so warmer than this time yesterday though, still enough to have every South MS city below freezing for a couple of hours. This afternoon will continue the subtle warming trend we’ve seen each afternoon since Monday, climbing out of the “chilly” 40s and into the “cool” 50s. That’s despite increasing cloud cover as our next frontal system approaches, bringing sprinkles/showers as early as tonight, but rain most of Friday. That front will bring another short-lived cooldown for the weekend, but will also bring our warmest day of the week Friday afternoon with a high near 62 before it passes.
